There’s No Turning Back Now
After sailing school, we are certain of the path forward but several important things have to happen to make it possible.
- Sell the house for as much as we think it’s worth.
- Nina gets a remote job.
- Tom gets a remote job.
Because these are three very complicated things, there’s almost no chance that we can have all three happen at the same time. So, we decided we’d settle for two of the three.
As soon as we put this out into the universe, things have started to fall into place. We made our final repairs to the house and listed it for sale. On day one, we had two offers with one being over list price.
I (Nina) made some calls about potential jobs and in a conversation with the CEO of a small consulting firm, she tells me she is about to hop on a plane to go sailing for the weekend. When I tell her we just got back from sailing school and share our plan to buy a boat, she says “you’re hired”.
With a job offer in hand and a contract signed on our house, it’s time to move forward, which is both scary and exciting. We never expected this to happen so quickly. It’s like the universe telling us we’re on the right path.
Now, we have to get serious about packing and selling all of our furniture.
